Consultants and Project Managers (Wind) – Wanted in 2013

Realise Renewables is a specialist consultancy, based in Scotland, delivering independent project management and development services across a range of renewable energy technologies.
The Company is seeking interest from consultants or project managers with previous experience of wind projects. We are looking to create a friendly, dynamic and flexible working environment for all staff to maximise their potential.
Positions are based in Edinburgh or Perth. It will require regular travel, site visits and attendance at meetings with clients, statutory consultees, and planning officials in their own offices or properties.
The roles available would involve winning work, project managing the development of projects and coordinating project teams. Project work will include site screening and selection through to planning consent and financial close from concept to feasibility, scoping, planning and beyond. You will work closely with a variety of team members, partners, associates and contractors as required.
The package of salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
The Person
Candidates should have project experience ideally in the wind industry or renewable energy sectors. You should have a background in managing projects and other staff through a formal planning process and co-ordinating your own input with that of external experts. You should be familiar with writing environmental reports, planning applications and feasibility studies together with an appreciation of the financial and legal context of these projects. A general knowledge of the wind turbine market and its financing options is also desirable.
You will have proven experience of successfully dealing with planning authorities and other project stakeholders, including landowners, project contractors, external consultants, development partners, communities and other stakeholders. With an aptitude for project management and leadership, you will be self-motivated with a keen interest in the renewable energy sector.
Working within a growing development team you will be a team player and team leader, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial abilities and a recognition that the role could be demanding yet dynamic and exciting. You should possess a current UK driving licence. You should be a competent user of standard IT tools in particular Excel. Ideally you would have some experience of desktop GIS software and specialist wind planning software.
